Desk Ergonomics

In the ever-evolving usage of Multimedia, Clover Lane library is committed to providing current technological tools that can service the needs of our community. As  Hopetown grows and our library membership increases our aim is to gain many more resources so that we will fulfill this commitment.

But with the use of these resources comes the risk that with out the proper training on how to safely work with these items, injuries may occur.

Before opening our doors, we worked closely with Hopetown’s shire planning and safety committee, to make a space that was designed with patrons’ safety and wellbeing as the utmost importance. From the location of the computer room, to the podcast room, our media room, all the way to our self-service stations, these have been designed with Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.

If you’re thinking “how can I help?” then the answer is do not be afraid to walk up to our customer service desk. We love to get to know our community better and hear any suggestions that might come up in conversation. The other way is having a glance at our helpful signage on Desk Ergonomics, which we have placed at each of our computer stations.

Again, staff are available to demonstrate how to use the resources available to the members of our Library.
